Monotone Designer Signature Tutorial in Photoshop

Welcome, today I’ll teach you how to make this signature in photoshop:

Begin with new document [ File > New ] and fill the first layer with black [ Edit > Fill > Black ]

Now add your stock and erase the left side of the stock with soft round brush .

Now add the same stock to fill the black background on the left side. Then take your erase tool and erase some parts to blend it with the rest of the background. Now take your smudge tool and smudge a bit the background. Take your brush tool and by using some really cool brushes brush in black on the left side of the tag. And as final make some dots by using pencil tool and hard round brush 1px big.

Add a stock ( black and white ) and erase almost all of that stock, leave some pieces on the left side and on the right side and a bit on the main render. Now set the layer to Lighten .

Apply image on new layer [ Image > Apply Image ] now take your burn tool and make some parts of the tag a bit darker. Take your burn tool and make some parts lighter. Take your smudge tool and smudge some parts of the tag. And as final take your blur tool and blur the parts you think will look well after blurring them .

Add a tiles stock , a black and white one and set it to Darken, erase the parts you don’t like so much .

Take your brush tool and brush in white on the places where u want to make it more lighted . After you’re done with brushing, you can smudge it a bit to give it more effect. Lower the opacity of the layer to 68%

Add a very nice black and white stock with a lot of effects on it and then take your erase tool and by using soft round brush erase the parts you don’t like .

Once again add black and white stock and erase until you get a nice outcome. Set the layer to Lighten .

Apply image on new layer [ Image > Apply Image ] then select your move tool and move the applied image a bit to the right side. Now you have to play with two tool, burn tool and dodge tool, just make some parts lighter and the other a bit darker until you get a nice effect and outcome.

Take your brush tool and by using soft round brush around 20px big make some random dots on the right side of the tag don’t make to much, I just made 2.

Now you’re done. I hope you have learnt something new and that you like your outcome.

Hi nice post, i have come across your site once before when searching for something so i was just wondering something. I love your theme, would it happen to be a free one i can download, or is it a custom one you had made? In a few weeks i will be launching my own site, i’m not great with designs but i really like the style of your site so it would be cool if i could find (or pay for) something with a similar look. :) Thanks!
