In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial you will learn how to create a Valentine Signature. The final result can be seen below:

Open up a New Document. I used size 310 X 125 you add in your stock and you smudge it. I smudged it with shapes and not with brushes. I then added heart brushes because it’s for a valentine.

Add in your render/stock. I had a stock and I cut it out. I did not cut it out perfectly, since it’s just a tutorial I did a quick job in cutting it out.

Now add some floral brushes and put a clipping mask on it.

Now smudge it around, color in different parts, and erase over the focal.

Add some gradient maps

Add in another c4d and smudge over the edges and erase over the focal

Now add the same gradient map that we added in pic 5 with 25% soft light. Add another c4d and smudge the edges with hard light 25% & screen 100% ( 2 c4d )

You can add scanlines and erase almost everything and put a clipping mask. Add in a shape with the custom shape tool and put a clipping mask on it.

Add some white/black gradient map with soft light 100%. Then fill the layer with black and erase over the focal.
Add in a white smudged c4d for the lighting 100% and some brushes

Add a gradient map white/black with hardlight 67% opacity 67% fill the final step to be better. Add Sharpen and some blur and a few adjustment layers and type out the text you want in the image.

I didn’t understand the 4th step, how do i “smudge”? o_O

March 26th, 2008 at 3:50 pmIt would’ve been easier to understand if you had described HOW to do each step instead of just telling to do it.
